Northern Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center

Located in the Chiang Mai province, the Northern Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is a prime destination for animal lovers. The center started as a rehabilitation center for Asiatic black bears rescued from poachers, bears kept as pets, or bears who lost their habitat. Today, they also focus on other wildlife rehabilitation, and they accept all kinds of animals. They do their best to rehabilitate them and release them back into the wild.

For those who visit the center, they can join a tour to learn more about the bears and other animals they take care of. The tours are a mix of education and engaging activities. They show visitors how they work with the animals, including feeding and socializing. Visitors can also see how they prepare the animals for release back into the wild.

Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand

Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand is a non-governmental organization working to save wildlife in Thailand. They operate four different wildlife rescue centers in the country, each with its particular focus.

One of their centers focuses on bears, which they rescue from bear farms and bile farms. They also run an elephant refuge center, a wildlife hospital, a wildlife sanctuary, and an education center. They accept volunteers to work in the centers, and visitors can join a tour to learn more about the work they do.

Phuket Marine Biological Center

Phuket Marine Biological Center is a marine research center that also focuses on marine animal rescue and rehabilitation. They have a mission to conserve, expand, and manage marine and coastal resources for sustainable development.

Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital

Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital is the world's first elephant hospital, established in 1993. They focus on rescuing and caring for sick and injured elephants, with the aim of returning them back to their natural habitat, whenever possible.

The hospital has many success stories that they are proud of, the most famous being Mosha. Mosha arrived at the hospital at just 7 months old, having lost her front leg to a land mine. The hospital provided her with a prosthetic leg, and she is now happily living at the hospital. Visitors can see Mosha and other elephants the hospital has saved, and learn about the conservation efforts made by the hospital.

Boon Lott's Elephant Sanctuary

Boon Lott's Elephant Sanctuary is a retirement home for elephants, where they can live out their days with dignity and respect. The sanctuary is located in Sukhothai province and is run by a foundation.

The foundation was established by a little boy, Boon Lott, who was born in Thailand and fell in love with elephants. After Boon Lott passed away, his mother, Katherine, kept his love for elephants alive by establishing the sanctuary. Visitors can join a tour of the sanctuary and learn about the elephants' stories and the foundation's conservation efforts.

Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center – Khao Pra Thaew

The Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center – Khao Pra Thaew is located in Phuket province and focuses on birds, snakes, civets, and macaques, among other animal species. They care for animals rescued from the wildlife trade, poaching, or injury, with the goal of releasing them back into the wild.

Visitors can join a tour and learn about the different animals they take care of, and see them up close. They also educate visitors about the importance of conservation and biodiversity in Thailand.
